In option D ,
What is "it" referring to in the phrase
"Long before...."
Isn't it there any pronoun ambiguity ??

Hi! The "it" is actually not ambiguous.

This is an acceptable case in which there is not antecedent to the pronoun. This is an example of something we call the "empty" it.
