A rectangular floor that measures 8 meters

NIKHIL BORKER

One needs to cover a floor having an area of 8mx10m=80 sq m with squares of area 2mx2m=4 sqm

The question basically translates to "How many 4 sqm squares do you need to cover 80 sqm of floor area?"
The answer is 80/4 =20 squares
Now each square costs $12, so the total cost=20x12=$240

Thanks for posting your solution! It's good to keep in my that this method works out as both the length and width of the rectangular floor are a multiple of the side length of the square.
