Hi instructors/experts,

I have no idea about B.
IMO, "an activation of... " works as an absolute phrase, describe the proceeding action
"in turn" is a prep, modifier the absolute phrase,

it confused me a lot, it is not absolute phrase in B? why?

please help to clarify my fault

Hi Shu Zhang,

Happy to help :) First, "an activation of" isn't considered an absolute phrase, since it does not include a participle. Rather we have a noun "an activation" plus the preposition "of." Also, "in turn" is an idiom that can be used in a formal way to say "as an equal or related effect." The idiom is normally found with verbs to relate two actions. In (B) we would be comparing an action ("encourages visitors") with a noun ("an activation"), which isn't correct.
