Who should sign up?

Any Magoosh student looking for last-minute preparation and motivation for the test. Or anyone who is starting to study and needs guidance and a study plan. Tutoring is a great opportunity to talk about strategies, build a study plan, figure out what to bring to the test center, and pinpoint what to focus on in your studies.

How does the guarantee work?

If you are not satisfied with the tutoring session for any reason, email us and we will give you a full refund. No strings attached.

How soon can I start?

Once you sign up and complete the pre-tutoring survey, you will receive a link to schedule your first session. You may have to wait up to two weeks for an opening.

How long is each tutoring session?

1 hour

Will I always have the same tutor?

Yes, if availability allows. There is more value in working with the same tutor over time, so we'll try to make sure you have the same tutor throughout your studies.

What if I need more tutoring sessions?

We can work with you as long as you need the help. If you think you will need more tutoring sessions than we are offering right now, send an email to help@magoosh.com.

How will I meet with the tutor?

On Skype or over the phone — whichever works best for you.

What currency are the prices listed in?

All prices are in USD (United States Dollars).

What will I do in the tutoring session?

The tutor will create a lesson plan for your tutoring session(s) based on your needs. If you need to work on improving your verbal skills, then the tutor will create a verbal-focused lesson plan. If you need help with your writing, then the tutor will review your writing and provide feedback. If you need help with specific math concepts, then the tutor will prepare to cover those concepts in your tutoring session(s).

Magoosh test prep experts. Our test prep experts have years of experience as tutors, preparing students for standardized tests.

What if I miss a tutoring session or need to reschedule?

We understand that plans change. If you know you won't be able to make a tutoring session, let your tutor know as soon as possible. You can cancel the session and reschedule 24 hours before your session. But if you miss your session or cancel with less than 24 hours before your start time, you will not be able to reschedule. You will lose that session and won't be able to make it up.

How does the scheduling work?

You will receive a link to choose a tutor and schedule your first session in an email after purchasing. If you purchase multiple sessions, you can choose how close together or far apart your sessions are.

Do I need a Magoosh premium account?

Yes. If you don't have a premium Magoosh account, you can sign up for tutoring and receive a discount on a premium Magoosh account. Contact us at help@magoosh.com to ask for a discount on a premium account.
