A long ways out from school, I needed to review math BIG TIME! Mike's lessons were extremely helpful. Everything I needed to know, and nothing I didn't. I found the problem solution videos to be very helpful as well. As a visual learner, it helped to watch Mike work through the problems, as opposed to read through text that could be confusing. |

I think Magoosh provides great resources; in fact, I plan to continue using the Math + IR package I've purchased, despite being done with the GMAT. That said, completing the material in just over a week was not helpful and probably proved to be a hindrance in my quantitative performance. I found myself bogged down in the storm of details running through my head and often struggled to find a starting point as a result. While I had only taken the two free practice tests provided by the mba.com software, in comparison, my percentile fell. I believe, had I started with Magoosh when I began studying a month ago, my quant score would have been much stronger. Given two or more months, I suspect I'd be much greater than proficient. |

Many textbooks and prep courses focus specifically on the general skills required to consistently answer medium level questions correctly. The stark difference between most study guides and Magoosh is that Magoosh covers all the basics but also the in depth concepts required to succeed beyond the mid 600's. Magoosh helped me tremendously with both Quant and Verbal! My first test score was a 670 after taking a 9 week in-person course through another vendor. I was somewhat disappointed with my score, so I turned to try Magoosh hoping that it could help but not expecting to get the full 50 point bump. My next try at the GMAT was scheduled for 28 days after my first attempt. I watched every Quant and Verbal lesson video and did ~400 Magoosh practices questions for both Quant and Verbal; it was like Mike McGarry was the voice inside my head! Videos helped fill in a lot of conceptual gaps in maths and taught me how to approach the verbal section strategically. Whereas before, in sentence correction, I had judged sentences by how they sounded, Magoosh taught me how to approach them analytically. |
