Magoosh provided me with a structured GMAT study plan. I took the GMAT twice before signing up for Magoosh. I didn't really take the test seriously the first time and was poorly prepared. For my second try I hired a tutor and used the Official Guide books. I scored a disappointing 650. I decided that I needed to evaluate how I was studying and try something new. Magoosh was a great fit for me since I am a visual learner. I followed the Advanced Study Plan (although it took me five months, not three). The thorough explanations after each question were awesome. I also liked that I could enter notes directly under questions or lessons. This was really helpful for review later on. The actual test was a lot easier than all of the practice questions and tests that I had done. I didn't think a score this high was possible. The Magoosh program and staff helped me SO MUCH to achieve my score. I went from a 540 on my first mock to a 730 on my actual test, and Magoosh was there every step of the way for me. Magoosh provided me with a great foundation for my math and verbal skills. Especially the video explanations for every problem and the Magoosh flash cards were very helpful and contributed greatly to training and improving my problem solving abilities. Moreover, the often interesting blog posts of Magoosh gave further insight into the very origins of the theoretical quantitative and verbal subjects that are tested by the GMAT, as well as into strategies and study schedules recommended by Magoosh and applied by other students. Finally, I found it very helpful that Magoosh provides its students with an online companion app about the OG 2017, consisting of a timer, markable answer choices, and, sometimes, also video explanations for the problems. This app definitely is a great tool for analyzing past performance in the OG and thus makes a great error log for reviewing and improving the student's skills. |
